Say Goodbye To Hip And Knee Pain!
Sedentary habits can have negative effects on the hips and knees, especially with so many of us spending more time at home, but at Complete Physical Rehab, we know that it doesn’t mean that you can’t still get moving and find relief for the aches and pains that come with sitting around the house. If you have noticed achy, painful, or tight joints while being quarantined, you are not alone – and you can find relief from the comfort of your own home!
At Complete Physical Rehab, we’ve put together some exercises to make sure you are still getting physical activity and beating hip and knee pain during the pandemic. Just make sure that you consult with your physical therapist if you notice any pain, or if you are unsure about how to perform these exercises.
Check out these two below!
Kneeling Hip Flexor Stretch
This easy-to-do exercise gives you a great stretch in the shoulders. Begin by standing up straight and clasp your hands together behind your back. Then extend your arms, still clasped, as far as they can go behind your back. Hold this stretch for 30 seconds. This will help loosen up the rotator cuff region and relieve any tension you may be feeling in that area.
Standing Hip Flex/Abd/Er
Begin by standing up straight with your feet spread slightly apart. Lift up your right leg so your knee is bent in a 90-degree angle in front of you. Then, slowly rotate your hips so your leg is at your side, still bent in a 90-degree angle. Still in this position, slowly straighten out your leg and place your foot back down, flat on the floor, then rotate your hips again so your foot is back in its original position facing forward. Continue this motion, doing 3 reps of 10 on either side. It is a great way to get moving and stretch both your hip and knee muscles.
At Complete Physical Rehab, we want to make sure you are still staying active, comfortably, and healthy during these times. Just because you’re at home, it doesn’t mean you can’t beat those aches and pains!
We care about your health and want to make sure that you are still getting the relief you need while you are quarantined. If you have any questions, or if you would like any additional advice on staying active while sheltering at home, contact us today!
Wishing you health and comfort during this time!
