Complete Physical Rehabilitation

10 Years For Jersey City

As we reach the end of a very special month for our Jersey City Physical Therapy clinic, it really is nice to take a step back and reflect on everything.  When you do that, it’s amazing to see where we’ve come from to where we are now, especially with the tremendous growth of the Jersey City community around us.

Marathon Recovery Tips

Well I did it.  I FINISHED MY VERY FIRST RACE!  I am so happy to have participated in the United Airlines NYC Half Marathon and honestly can’t believe that I completed a half marathon as my first race ever.

No one really gives you advice for POST race recovery.  And as I was sitting there, I realized that I wasn’t necessarily engaging in activity that would help my recovery go smoothly, and neither were some of the other runners around me.  So I decided to focus on what would be best to help me get back on my feet faster.

So here are the Top 3 Tips for post race recovery:

Watch Your Back When Shoveling

When we treat patients for Physical Therapy in Elizabeth and Jersey City, we do a lot of education regarding posture, especially when it pertains to daily activities.  Treatment obviously helps when injury occurs, but Physical Therapists are the top specialists that can also educate you on how to prevent injury from ever happening.  Since my wife, Dr. Asha Koshy, is a McKenzie certified back specialist, every back program that we have in our clinics is specially tailored to everyday living.  And with our area getting hammered by winder storm Stella, now is as good a time as any to give you our best tips for saving your back when shoveling snow.

Happy 10th Anniversary to the Jersey City Physical Therapy Clinic!

March 9, 2007.  Wow.  In the blink of of an eye, we come into the office today to celebrate 10 whole years since our Jersey City Physical Therapy clinic first opened…

Helping Russell Come Back From Injury

Russell came to us after a snowboarding accident left him with severe back pain, with nerve pain radiating down through his legs. The condition left him unable to continue with his daily life normally, including participating in sports, sitting for long periods of time,
Now, we’re happy to report that he can continue with skiing, snowboarding, skateboarding, and ultimate frisbee with minimal discomfort. In addition, he’s able to sleep, stand, and work with little to no problems! Congratulations, Russell!

Winter Tips: Proper Snow Shoveling

After an extremely mild early winter/Christmas season, it appears that winter is fully set to arrive on Saturday, as the NYC/NJ area will have our first snowstorm of the season.

If you keep these tips in mind, hopefully you’ll be able to prevent extensive back problems from snow removal.

Neck, Back Pain & Your Cell Phone

I see almost every Physical Therapy patient in Jersey City or Elizabeth pull out a cell phone in my office either before, during, or after their appointment.  And, in doing so, I constantly become witness to something that, as a Physical Therapist, makes me cringe.  And that something is: bad cell phone posture.”

Physical Therapy Neck Pain Success

“At first, I wasn’t so sure because I didn’t really know much about Physical Therapy.
Now, I can move my neck with ease!  I don’t have pain at all anymore and I can completely turn my neck from side to side now without any discomfort. “

We are happy to report that not only has Ernest returned to full function, but he is also a firm believer in the power of Physical Therapy!
